Ingredients

  • Milk3 cups
  • Yeast Plus ½ Teaspoon Sugar1 tablespoon
  • White All-purpose Flour11 cups
  • White Sugar1⅓ cups
  • Salt1½ teaspoons
  • Shortening⅔ cup
  • Eggs2
  • - 3 Teaspoon Cardamom Seed (ground Up)2½

Method

  1. 01

    Scald milk until warm (almost to a boil, forming foam on top)

  2. 02

    Dissolve yeast into 1 cup of warm water, sit for 10 mins

  3. 03

    Mix sugar, shortening, eggs in mixer

  4. 04

    Add in cardamom, salt, 2 cups of flour in mixer

  5. 05

    Add in milk

  6. 06

    Pour yeast mixture in

  7. 07

    Add flour

  8. 08

    Let it mix

    Let dough rise

    Pull out and braid. Let rise again.

    Top with coffee and sugar
